Blackbutt - The Town >> Arts and Crafts in Blackbutt

Blackbutt boasts 3 art galleries-

  1. Butt-Art - owned and operated by a cooperative of artists
  2. Oasis Gallery - owned and operated by artists Wazza and Ginny
  3. Art Gallery in the council library at the Archie Muir Centre, Hart Street Blackbutt - There is an opening night by Friends of Cultcha at 7pmĀ on the 1st Monday night of the month with exhibits displayed throughout the month.

The Blackbutt district has some amazing artists.

Warren Ansell is one of these artists. He is quite a versatile artist, who sculpts in metal, paints oils and water colours and also sculpts in clay.

Warren and his wife Janette moved to Blackbutt from Brisbane 16 years ago and developed their property into a natural habitat and sanctuary for native wildlife who can be found frequenting the many feeders and water holes near and around the house. Frogs are also often found to be guests in the house. It is no wonder Warren's art work mirrors his love for the bush and the animals who depend on it for life.

He is currently working on miniature figurines that he will be giving pride of place in his Bonsai Garden.

Warren has no need for the weather bureau as he listens and watches the fauna that tell him when the rain is coming.

The attached art works are sold through Bunya Forest Gallery in the Bunya Mountains.
